Today I have decided to talk to you about negative self talk! What is this? This is when we tell ourselves stuff that we believe true or when others are telling us it so we as a result start believing exactly what they say and it becomes reality!
This is things like ” I am not good enough” or “I am so stupid” . The thing with words is when said they become reality and if said over and over it becomes the truth. As an example have you ever woken up on a Monday and thought “I hate Monday’s” then you get on the bus, get in work and think “I hate my boss” and during the day you keep saying all these negative things and moaning that you had a bad day? Well this of the negative self talk you are saying! You say them, believing them and then BANG! It becomes your reality.
It is easily done we all do it at some point, the good news is though that you can stop when you start thinking these things and change it into positive self talk. This is when we tell ourselves good things ” I am loved”, “today is a great day”.
Once you start to do this the brain gets it, it will start to cheer you on in your new positive life!
Things to start telling yourself:
- I am Amazing
- I am good enough
- Today amazing things will happen
- I am loved
- I am kind
- I am powerful
These are a few examples, why not make some of your own up. If you sit and think about the negative things you say why not write them down then change them to a positive.” I hate myself” can become “I love myself”. I guarantee that over time you will start noticing a huge difference in your mood and self belief.
People in this world will be very quick to put you down, unfortunately! However you can protect yourself by not joining in with this and tell yourself good things about you. You are the only person who’s opinion will ever matter about yourself so make it a good one.
