  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

Hi I’m Emma and I’m from Cheshire but now live on Waiheke Island just off the coast of mainland Auckland New Zealand. I have been here 14 years and love it. I have 3 beautiful children Mr I’m a Ninja 7 and 3-year-old twinadoes.

I am a copywriter Emma Bowyer-The Word Whisperer NZ and am working on developing my own writing and blogging into my full time business. I have had a couple of articles published this year  and  launched my blog  Don’t Put Peas Up Your Nose written from the point of view of my twins all about the things they do and the silly big people getting in their way.

  1. What is your business about?

Writing a funny and light hearted blog that will make other mums roll their eyes in recognition and laugh snort at some of the crazy antics the twinadoes and their brother get up to. Occasionally I’m allowed to chip in but that’s not that often usually I’m just a figure to be ridiculed or escaped from.


  1. What made you get into this line of business?

I regularly perform comedy and improvisation, with the occasional bit of stand up thrown in. When my kids came on the scene I couldn’t stop talking about them and realised they were comedy gold after telling a few stories friends about their antics like when my 9 month old daughter threw herself out of her cot to escape the tedium of nap time and gave herself a black eye, and they told me I should write that stuff down, so now I do.

  1. What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

I get up as soon as my alarm threatens to ring and slide out of bed like a SAS sniper to get to the bathroom and into the shower before my twinadoes realise it’s morning and start screaming for me and if I don’t move quickly enough tearing their room to pieces. Then if I’m really winning I have time to make a quick cup of decaf tea (I know I’m a saint)  lol. Before the morning wars begin.


  1. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

To ask myself when I’m stressed and at freak out point (so that’s about 23 times a day). Will this matter  in 5 years or even 5 months time? Will I even remember it? And if not to ‘Let it Go! Let it Go!’

  1. What is a book you would say everyone must read?

For all pregnant Mummas I’d say you have to read  Up the Duff: The real guide to pregnancy it is hilarious and full of fun facts by Kaz Cooke

  1. Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

If you subscribe to my Don’t Put Peas Up Your Nose list I’ll be your best friend forever and promise never to share your secret ‘Mum guilts’ with anyone else. Unless you ask me to and then I’ll drink tea and eat chocolate with you till you feel better.

  1. What one thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

I stop and breathe and think how incredibly blessed I am to have my  three wonderful kids. Unless it’s because of them driving me mad that I need a mindset change, then it’s ‘thank God I’ve got my secret stash of chocolate hidden in the cupboard’.


  1. What do you love most about helping others?

Seeing people smile. That’s why I write my blog to help other twin mums that might feel isolated and alone. If I can help them see that yes it is a really hard job being a twin Mama but it’s also the best club in the world to belong to. And that the funny side is always there, you just have to recognise it. Even if your 3-year-old twin daughter is caught hanging out of her bedroom window instead of napping and you have to call the fire brigade. True story. I can laugh now.


  1. Your favourite quote?

‘Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re gonna get’. Forrest Gump And in my case that was after multiple IVF treatments finding out I was having twins! Shocked? I couldn’t speak for about 2 hours and for me that’s saying something.

How To Get Sales Every Time!

Welcome, so today I want to talk to you about a few things you can do in order to get clients and make a sale every time. Yes you heard me right, EVERY-TIME!

As a copywriter my job is to write in a way that is hypnotic and persuasive to get that person agreeing from the first line all the way down the text to the sale. I then get them to purchase. It is a skill I am not going to lie but once you perfect it, it is gold.

So I wanted to share some things I have learnt that can help you, this is also my first blog post for the Business Mum Network.

The first thing and one of the most important things is to get inside the clients head, what do they want from you or your product? What problems are you solving for them? What is their pain? What does their life look like? What do they want their life to look like?

If you have no clue then you need to be asking? Put a poll out, create a questionnaire, speak to your clients and ask them why they picked you or your product. Once you know this you can direct everything to this in words and text and those clients will think you have been in their house or mind seeing exactly what they want. People love to feel special and like you care. You will never be able to put a price on giving a client that experience.

You don’t have to remind them of the pain to get them to buy change! Now this is something I recently learnt you can get someone to buy something on the outcome alone. You do not have to make them feel even worse about the situation they are in now to buy.

Example: if you are a money mindset coach and your clients are people who are in debt and want to change their relationship with money you can get them to join your coaching by selling what you can offer them and the vision of the future they want. They will feel so low if you tell them about their debt, losing their house, not being able to afford food etc they already know this so don’t make it worse. Let’s make them feel good about the future.

Personality Sells! 

If you write as you speak your personality comes across and this is a big seller, you will build client trust this way too.

Another big tip from me is directing your client, when I say this I mean in the writing you put out make it hypnotic to read. Like a really good book they will not want to put down and carry on until the end. You can do this by putting a hook or leading question at the beginning that draws their attention. Want to make £5000 in one day? that would grab your attention right?

Then back up what you just said by telling them how you can do this and why they should pick you, facts and figures back this up. If you tell them that you managed to lose 3 stone in 3 months this is a personal testimonial and is giving proof.

Then price or call here section the grand finale! The key here is to just put it simple and tell them exactly what you want them to do CALL NOW, BUY HERE!! 

Another great tip is KEEP IT SIMPLE! Do not over complicate it or use big words. Keep to the points you do not want to send clients away by talking too much, and not everyone will understand the words you use.

4 Tips for getting more sales from content!

As a copywriter I have learnt a few things in my time, especially when it comes to making mistakes when it comes to a sales posts. Some of the things I have put out there in the past have actually made me cringe. Facebook Time Hop is not my friend!

So today I wanted to share some tips with you that you can implement in your business today to start making a change. This will help you stand out, get clients, and make those all important sales.

1. Personality! 

This is so important and something that can easily get overlooked. We like to remain professional and come across as the expert in our field (there is nothing wrong with that) what we do miss is that we can sound like a robot and forget to show our personality!

People buy you! You will always have clients if you are you!

2. Read back over what you write! 

Every time I write something I go back and check it over and read it OUT LOUD! This helps in a few areas; you get to hear how it sounds to someone else reading it, you will get to notice where there should be full stops, or other punctuation. This also helps to see if your personality is coming through. Does what you write actually sound like something you would say?

3. Keep it simple! 

Do not write massive complicated jargon! This confuses the hell out of people, If I am looking to lose weight and someone starts talking to me about how my glucose levels and Hypertension, Cardiology etc,etc (I bet you got bored reading that). I fully get that you love what you do; but the people you are talking to want facts, figures, easy to understand words and know what they will get from your service.  Do not lose them by trying too hard… again just be you!

4. Tell them what to do! 

If you are doing a post to get people to book a call you need to literally type BOOK HERE!

People love to be told step by step what to do when they look at something, if there is no call to action you will simply lose them. Can you imagine if you have made a great sales post the client is reading it and nodding along the whole time then they get to the end and there is nothing… you will lose sales. Buy Here, Book Here etc will get them taking that next step.

Hi! I’m Cali Cutler, the founder of the Bite Light Babes and a holistic health, intuitive eating, and body love coach. I’m from Salt Lake City, Utah. 🙂
2. What is your business about?
I help women break free of the diet/binge eating cycle, bust free of the dieting mentality and learn to heal their relationship with their food and their own body.
3. What made you get into this line of business?
After being a raw vegan for 7+ years, I realised my love for health was also dotted with my insecurities about my body, my obsession with dieting, and looking like the “ideal image.” Throughout my years of being a sort of health-nut-nazi and health coach for 500+ people around the United States, I decided to really start helping women who were… well, just like me!
Women who have heard hundreds of nutritional rules, that have been from diet to diet, and are constantly unsatisfied with their bodies. Women who have forgotten how to have a peaceful relationship with food, one that fully nourishes them, without rules and counting calories and deprivation and having to keep constant food patrol.
Now, we are helping women worldwide stop dieting, have peace with food, and live like they always wanted to. I had to jump through 743,502,487 hoops to get here, and I LOVE giving women the tools so they don’t have to do the same!

4. What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?
I’ve never been a morning person, but I’m really learning the power of habits (especially in a morning routine!) I like to start the day with a yerba mate’ tea, which really wakes me up, do yoga or gym, then meditate and visualise. I usually carve out about 2 hours in the morning to really dive into self-care and be able to fill myself up first so I be capable of giving time, energy, and value the rest of the day.
5. What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Ooooo mama! That’s a big question to ask someone who has had countless amazing mentors and teachers! 🙂 There’s a common thread of powerful advice every mentor has given me though, and here’s a story to illustrate the best advice I’ve ever gotten:
There was once a woman who went into the woods to call forth Krishna. She earnestly knelt down and with all her heart asked that Krishna please show himself to her. Lo and behold, Krishna appeared at the top of hill and walked down the path toward her. As she kept praying, he tapped her on the shoulder to let her know he was there. Without opening her eyes, she grumpily said, “Go away! Can’t you see I’m praying here?” And swatted him away.
The moral is this: Whenever we want anything, it’s because we will feel happier in the having of it. When we want things and feel bad, we are warding away Krishna tapping us on the shoulder… who represents the happiness, peace, and joy you’re looking for. These emotions/energies are available to us, every moment of every day. 🙂
The most potent and powerful advice I’ve ever gotten is this and the secret to getting everything you ever wanted:
