Leanne Macdonald

  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

My name is Leanne and I am a mum of four living in rural Northumberland.

As an emotional health and well being coach and founder of the Happy Mama Movement; I am an advocate for supporting mums and their children live a happy and balanced life.

  1. What is your business about?

I help parents create calm in the home and get back to enjoying parenting and move on from focusing on the daily stresses of parenthood, I work 121 with mums who feel stuck and who are struggling to get the emotional balance in life and I also work with teens and children to support their understanding of their emotions and the connection to their thoughts and to realise the power they have inside of them to navigate smoothly through life……. and breath! ha

  1. What made you get into this line of business?

I basically found myself at an all time low, struggling to find joy in parenting, struggling to find joy in life and dealing with my husband who at the time was facing some issues with his own mental health all while running my own business and having four kids.

I woke up one day and realised there was more to life and set off to find it and in doing so I felt inspired to help anyone who has ever felt like I used to.

I was also inspired to work with children as my husbands mental health issues plus my lack of lustre for life had a knock on effect in my children’s life – which I am so happy to have turned around.

  1. What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

I get up in the morning because I love my life. I love my home, I love my work, I love my family and I have finally found my inner joy.

My morning routine consists of mentally noting my appreciation and gratitude for everything in my life and the things to come, I take 10 full in breaths and full out breaths and I pull a card from my keepers of the light deck for guidance…. Then I have ten gallons of coffee

  1. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

I tend to listen to my own intuition and rarely seek advice from others so this is a hard question to answer, I suppose an ex boss once said to me that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and my interpretation of that was that nothing in life is worth loosing your inner peace over, you can also find a solution when you tackle a problem with love and understanding.

  1. What is a book you would say everyone must read?

F**k It Therapy

  1. Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

I am opening up my mama and me positive living academy for enrolments. The academy focuses on the whole picture, mums mindset and emotional balance, parenting and supporting your child with their emotional needs. Its a six week academy with weekly training, activities, guidance and support – and by the end of the course you will have a new, clear and peaceful approach to parenting and life and you will be able to support your children to achieve the same.I love this academy, I have poured my heart and soul into it, I focused on how I felt in the past, my children have given their input and I have worked with lots of mums as guinea pigs  to fine tune the content and its amazing!

  1. What one thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

Breath work, it instantly changes your emotional state. Full in breath and full out breath.

  1. What do you love most about helping others?

The moment I see a light bulb go off and my clients whole body language changes, like they have just found their own joy – I love that.

  1. Your favourite quote?

My favourite quote is – ‘All we are is pure joy, peace and wisdom with the power to create the illusion we are not’

Donna And Dermot On The Move

I was very honoured this week to receive a copy of Donna and Dermot on the move by Hilda Kalap and Jamie – leigh O’Neill.  I have never had a book from the actual author before and signed aswell, it was a very exciting and lovely feeling.  I thank Hilda for this, I am very grateful.

Now this book is for children aged 5 to 9 years of age, so you may be wondering why given my style of blog and age of 33 why am I talking to you about a children’s book, stay with me.

Donna and Dermot is a book about mindfulness for children. I think this is so important for children as sometimes being a Child especially in this age of Youtube, Facebook etc they have alot of technology not like when I was their age when my biggest thoughts where about playing in the woods with my friends.

I know 5 year olds that have YouTube channels and are always wanting the latest phone. It always makes me think about when I was five if I had a phone who would be in my contact list, it would have been my mum and grandparents that would have been it. Today that isn’t the case these children have probably more contacts than me as they all have phones.

So for someone to create a book that teaches children about being mindful is an amazing thing. This book is about Donna who is loving life in the countryside then her parents get a job in the city and once there all Donna can see is the negative, she gets so involved in the negative that she doesn’t realise the amazing new things that are going on around her. Donna comes up with a plan to get back to the countryside by saving her pennies to get on the train and back to her grandparents, now I wont ruin the ending for you but as an adult reading this book I even managed to take away from it an important message.

No matter what we have in life that is going on good or bad, it is important that we  sometimes take a moment to sit there and breathe. Actually see what is going on around you and it may actually make you realise that the important stuff, the stuff that really matters is with you always no matter where you go!

I would also like to add that any child would love this story, Dermot is a lovely little character and the illustrations are beautiful. Perfect bedtime story.

A little bit about Hilda:

Michele Liddle

Little bit of a twist today I thought that I would mix it up and interview myself as a Women Of Wisdom. Vain I know but I do feel I have a lot that I can share with you and I am very wise!! Obviously!

  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

I am Michele Marie Liddle, I am from Norfolk UK. I am a blogger for well this site, and founder of She Steps Up.

2. What is your business about?

She Steps Up Blog is a blogging site where I write about business, mindset, mental health, and parenting advice these are all things that are me! I also include some spiritual stuff as I am a huge believer in energy, crystals and the universe. I also run a feature called “Women Of Wisdom” which I created as I wanted a space that showed off amazing women in business and share them with my community.

I have also set up a new part of She Steps Up which is creating content and transcribing podcasts, and Facebook Lives for female entrepreneurs who maybe do not enjoy the creative writing side of their business or  maybe they just want to be free and have time to reach out to their clients more.

3.What made you get into this line of business?

I love writing it is a passion for me and I know from speaking with other women in business that not everyone finds it as enjoyable as I do or as easy. Having done MLM, and Coaching, as well as working with coaches I know how much writing we have to do on a daily business to get ourselves seen and clients in the door. Words have a big impact!

If you don’t find writing easy it creates blocks which can then affect other areas of your business. I also love to support other women in business and I believe that providing this service I can free them up to be more effective in the areas of business they love.

The blog was more of a therapy thing why I decided what avenue to take next, but it has now become my baby.

4.What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

My passion for what I am doing now! I never felt like this with any other business or job I have been in. I love that I am being creative every day and helping others.

I do have a morning power routine that I do every morning! I wake up and do a guided meditation, I then listen to a powerful video or talk on Youtube before my feet even touch the ground. This gets me pumped up and ready for the day.

I will sometimes journal in the morning if not I then go get my coffee and cereal then check my messages. I do believe that the first moments in the morning are what set you up for the rest of the day so I like to make it a positive experience.

5.What is the best advice you have ever been given?

This is a hard one I have been given so much advise over the years, and told others some good advice also. The first thing that comes to mind though is do not ever give up. Now I have quit a lot of things and stopped doing things but this was not me giving up this was me moving on. There is a difference.

I am very aware that I am meant for bigger things and I am meant to help others so if the things I have been doing in the past where not getting me there then I stopped them and moved direction onto a path that was getting me closer towards the place I needed to be.

I believe I am here now so I am not giving up.

6.What is a book you would say everyone must read?

I am going to be doing a post about this soon as I have loads but I will say the book “You Are Amazing” by Sonia Choquette-Tully  and Sabrina Choquette-Tully is a must for any female. It is such a good read and I had so many “Ah-Ha” moments when reading it. So go to Amazon now and get a copy you won’t regret it.

7. Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

I do, I have just set up all my pricing and packages for my content and transcribing business so I am doing an introductory offer for August 2018 for my Platinum Package which is the all singing, all dancing package. I am giving a massive £2000 discount for a 90 day package!

8.What One thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

This I have to do a lot as I am someone who deals with mental health issues and long-term illness that all have an effect on my mindset. I have found that meditation can very quickly calm me and centre me to put me back on track. I am also a great fan of just removing myself from situations, I will take myself away and just sit and be calm or grab a book. Reading is my number one hobby so reading always takes me away to my happy place.

9.What do you love most about helping others?

I love to help people so much, I have been in situations where no one has helped me and I have been in situations where I have had many people help me so I know how it feels to be on both ends. I love to see other people succeed and achieve their dreams, I love the feeling I get inside from doing something that helps another person. I also think it is a beautiful thing to do as a human and more people should do it. Simple acts of kindness go a long way, you never know that one thing you do that is so easy could be the major thing someone else needed in order to change their life around.

10.Your favourite quote?

This is an easy one and I have it tattooed on my forearm in  beautiful vintage mirror “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and its better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring” by Marilyn Monroe.

I hope you enjoyed my own interview, if you would like to be featured please contact shestepsupblog@gmail.com. If you would like to see more of me please visit Facebook Instagramor Twitter

I hope you have  wonderful day.

Elizabeth Smith

  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

My name is Elizabeth Smith (aka Liz to most!) and I am the owner and founder of The GURU Co based in |Norfolk England.

  1. What is your business about?

My business is about ‘you’, my fellow human beings! G.U.R.U with the focus on developing and growing you as a person and an individual. I work with people who know there is more to life, who seek to unblock their blocks and not accept the default position is fete accompli! I offer bespoke Personal Development Coaching packages to support my clients in creating possibilities by opening up new thought processes to take them to their finest moments and mastery of their own minds and destiny. My mission is to offer students the opportunity to open new avenues of growth and I do this through my online courses and group training’s covering topics such as introductions to Neuro Linguistic Programming and onwards to certificated training’s and registrations with the INLPTA (International Neuro Linguistic Programme Training Association), Self-worth and courage.

  1. What made you get into this line of business?

I have been a Registered Mental Health Nurse for many years working in numerous roles and environments. I worked with many people during my career who have become so shut down by their negative thoughts and experiences. Suffocated by the lack of freedom or perceived choice in their lives and developed such a limited view of their futures it had resulted in them being referred to the Mental Health Services.

I have an absolute passion and belief in the human minds and its ability to expand and achieve the most unbelievable results. I stumbled across NLP more than 10 years ago when I was working in General Practice settings. I was using traditional approaches based including the medical model which means medication and became very despondent with the response and outcomes I was seeing.

I discovered NLP quite by accident and from a very strange source, which is why I am totally convinced by the saying ‘when the student is ready, the teacher appears’. My journey took me to Courses in Norfolk, Suffolk and finally qualifying as a Trainer of NLP in North Yorkshire. The changes in my personal life were remarkable and to those patients and clients I was working with, beyond words.

The techniques transformed my practice, my expectations of individuals and in turn we had astonishing breakthroughs. The creation of my business allows me to work creatively through coaching with a vast range of clients in all walks of life and I love it!

  1. What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

My reason for getting up in the mornings is so simple…I love life and I love making a difference. It may sound a little gushy but I actually find people and the human race fascinating, so I count myself very lucky to have a job I love. I am inspired by the people I meet and those I work with so I very rarely find getting out of bed difficult.

I certainly do have a morning routine which is loosely based on The Miracle Morning process. I am an early riser so I start with, Silence / meditation I incorporate this with ‘Ha’ breathing. I learnt this breathing technique about 7 years ago and it comes from Hawaiian roots. It is amazing for clearing that groggy feeling in your head, replenishes the oxygen in your brain. I the use positive affirmations visualising my goals and it’s a simple as that, I listen to my audio book or a YouTube podcast whilst I put my face on.

  1. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

This is a tough question because I think there have been many influencer’s in my life but if I had to pick one think it would be to remain at all times curious….This advice has helped me in many areas but especially when coaching people. By remaining curious you ask different questions rather than making a judgement. It is most often this curiosity which allows me and a client to delve deep into alternative thinking processes or challenge old beliefs, practice new strategies to move forward in life.

  1. What is a book you would say everyone must read?

I think the book of choice for absolutely anyone who is interested in their personal development and growth has to be The Peaceful Warrior. I believe it was a film but I’ve not seen it, however I do love a book because I can build my own frames of reference, turn the corners down to mark something of importance!

  1. Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

Yes! In the autumn I am running a ‘FREE’ Seminar in Norfolk to introduce people to Neuro Linguistic Programming. I am working on it at the moment and looking for a beautiful venue where the delegates can relax and absorb new learnings….they will never be the same again! I will be advertising this on my business page on Facebook and on my website.

  1. What One thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

Now this is easy and anyone can do this…I change my body language. Take note of when you are feeling doubtful, shy, fearful, unhappy, angry; notice your posture the tilt of your head and where you are breathing from. All of this is signally to your brain that something is wrong. Change this to mirror the mindset and feeling you want to project such as head up, long breaths, shoulders down and hands relaxed…experience the change!

  1. What do you love most about helping others?

I love to be of service. The experience of adding value to anyone’s life and world is enormously humbling experience which is extremely difficult to describe in words. I would like to say it is altruistic but it really isn’t I get so much personal pleasure and buzz from seeing people absolutely blossom and achieve things they really didn’t believe they could.

  1. Your favourite quote?

My favourite quote is directly from the NLP which is ‘what’s possible for another, is possible for me’

Thank you so much Elizabeth for sharing your amazing business with us, if you would like to see more of Elizabeth then please go to Facebook or her Website

If you would like to be a feature for Women Of Wisdom then please contact me at shestepsupblog@gmail.com.

Have a wonderful day.

Rebecca Dowden

  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

Hi! I’m Rebecca and I’m originally from NJ but I’ve lived in Rome, New Orleans, NYC and am now back in NJ! My business, Brandstory Design, is a brand strategy and web design company.
2.What is your business about?

My business helps entrepreneurs who are feeling lost in the sea of other online businesses and want to have a kick ass brand that sets them apart. I work 1-1 with clients and take them from wherever they’re at with their branding and website, and guide them all the way to Point Z where they have a finished Wix website, a cohesive online presence, and confidence in their messaging and sales strategy!

A key pillar of my business is founded in storytelling. I am confident that using stories in your branding and business is the best way to achieve authenticity, attract an audience organically, and build a business that you feel warm and fuzzy about. I help my clients discover the stories they can use in their business and actually walk them through the action-steps to take to implement them in their day-to-day social media posts and conversations.

3.What made you get into this line of business?

I used to do freelance web design and spoke with dozens of business owners who had wasted so much time and money on designs with no branding or strategy in place first. My mission is to ensure that your investment in your website and branding is actually an investment that brings in returns – i.e. you get real results, like income and clients, from the branding work we do together.

On a personal note, I left my full-time job to pursue my business after I finally found my passion at age 23: to create. I love creating things from websites to paintings to jewellery to videos to literally anything. I’ve been creating since I could hold a crayon and I’m still proud of the things I made over 10 years ago. I combined this passion with my passion for helping entrepreneurs to build a business where I create brands and branding identity for my clients.
30653672481aa824b945efd4e59bde6c

4.What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

Coffee lol. I’m not a morning person so I don’t have a crazy morning routine where I go for a 5-mile run at 5am or spend an hour journaling about my goals or anything. My two goals each morning are 1. Avoid looking at my phone and 2. Set an intention while making coffee.

I think immediately looking at screens and notifications when you wake up is just setting yourself up for stress. I give myself time and space in my own head before scrolling the endless feed of social updates. And once I’m out of bed, I make coffee and envision myself having the best day ever. I think about all the things I am going to do that day and I imagine them being amazing. For example, this morning over coffee I envisioned myself doing this interview on a live talk show with the audience on the edge of their seats for what I would say next. It’s a bit silly and day-dream-like but things like that are part of my “Million Dollar vision” which is a practice I use for my money and success mindset in my business.

5.What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Don’t listen to other people. When I was about to leave my job, I randomly met someone who was a friend of a friend who had his own business of over 20 years. I asked him what advice he would give me and he told me that everyone and their mom would try to give you advice or tell you how to run your business, but ultimately, you have to listen to your gut and do what you think is right. And it’s true. Only you know whats right in your business and while I’m a strong believer in constructive criticism, you have to be the one making the final calls at the end of the day.

6.What is a book you would say everyone must read?

That’s tough… I use Blinkest which is an app for summaries of business books so if anything, I’d recommend that. One of my favorite Blinks I read lately was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. I think the message that you are allowed to want whatever you want and you shouldn’t compare your life to others is so true. Plus, it’s a really a book about happiness and who doesn’t love being happy?

Another book I essentially have to recommend is Story Brand by Donald Miller. And no, I did not name my business after the book. I actually had a friend recommend the book to me after I started my business and it was absolutely the most helpful book for branding I’ve ever read (and that’s saying something). Miller walks you through step by step the actions you can take right now to start improving your brand messaging. It’s guaranteed to blow your mind.

7.Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

Always! Right now I’m focusing most of my time on a Marketing and Money Mastermind that I’m co-launching with Heather Doran in September. The program is for entrepreneurs who are ready to stop procrastinating the important business-y stuff and want to have fun while doing it. We’ll be running a 4-month 15-person group with weekly trainings on building a Wix website, managing your finances in Quickbooks, preparing for tax season, and automating your social media messaging with Tailwinds. We’re currently accepting applications!

8.What’s 1 thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

I remind myself that success does not equal money. So many people, especially in the US, equate financial success with life success and a lot of online entrepreneurs are guilty of this too. How often do we see coaches and consultants bragging about their success in terms of their latest 10k or 20k month? And while those are great successes that should be celebrated, it’s important to celebrate other definitions of success as well.

Whenever I’m feeling unsuccessful or feel like I’m failing, I remind myself of my personal measurements of success which include freedom, flexibility, and time spent with people I love. Even being able to stay in my pyjamas while I work all morning is success for me lol! I would encourage all people, not just entrepreneurs, to define what success is for you and hold onto that on the days when you don’t sign a new client or a sale you really wanted falls through or something else makes you feel like you’re failing.

9.What do you love most about helping others?

On the note from the last question, my definition of success for my clients also includes more than money. There’s an exercise I do where we work to figure out your USP which I call your Unique Story and Personality versus the old business school textbook definition of “unique selling point”. Before this exercise, clients usually say, “I’m boring. I don’t really have anything unique or fun to share”. This is never true of course, but as humans, we don’t see the things that make us truly amazing for some reason. After this exercise, the client’s face lights up and they realize how many things about them are unique and incredible. My goal is that after just 10min, I can have them saying “Hell yeah! I’m awesome, obviously, people will want to work with me!” Being able to shine a light on people’s strengths is my favorite part of my business.

10.Your favourite quote?

Karen Welden

  1. Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

I’m Karen Welden, my business is Karen Welden Coaching and I’m from Manchester in the UK.

2. What is your business about?

A marketing, mindset and NLP Life Coach, I help aspiring or established entrepreneurs and small businesses who are struggling with marketing overwhelm to get comfortable with marketing (from planning to measurement stage) and to implement a strategy that works for their particular business and delivers results.

Through specific coaching techniques, I help them to identify their goals, implement their strategy AND become more confident in their marketing capabilities and business goals.

Through NLP coaching and mindset work I help them to discover and overcome any fears, negative emotions or limiting beliefs in their subconscious mind that are holding them back from creating and growing the business (and life) of their dreams.

NLP helps with all aspects of business performance including confidence, decision-making, leadership and moving from states of procrastination to motivation. NLP is a truly transformational and life-changing experience.

3.What made you get into this line of business?

Throughout my 17 year marketing career, I worked in businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries. For many of those years I loved it but as the years rolled by I felt less and less fulfilled and started to question whether this was my true calling in life.
Whilst working long hours developing campaigns to help add more the the company’s bottom line, I no longer felt any sense of achievement and I didn’t feel valued. What I really craved was to make a difference in peoples’ lives so that I felt my time at work was rewarding.

During the latter years of my marketing career I developed a chronic mysterious health problem that left the medical profession stumped and finally resulted in me having to give up work. I searched online for ways to heal myself naturally through nutrition and lifestyle.

After much online research I found inspiration from some amazing people – one woman in particular who had cured herself from my condition through a variety of natural healing modalities and gone on to become a naturopathic doctor.

Following several consultations with her and putting into practice what I had learned online, my efforts began to pay off. It was a difficult journey. I had relapses and setbacks which at times had me wondering whether any of this was working. However, slowly but surely I improved. This changed my mindset and enabled me to think that anything is possible.
I knew then that a marketing career in the corporate world was no longer the right path for me. I still had a huge desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives but I didn’t know how.

I originally considered health coaching and attended a short taster coaching course hosted by The Coaching Academy. From that point on I was hooked! Coaching was definitely for me although I found other aspects of coaching more fascinating – in particular how we can use our own inner resources and the power of the mind to make positive changes in our lives.

So I went on to study NLP and Time Line TherapyTM and became a fully certified NLP Life Coach helping people transform their lives for the better! Originally helping individuals like myself to escape the 9-5 and create their dream business I soon found that often I was using my marketing expertise to help aspiring and new entrepreneurs with their marketing strategy and getting fabulous feedback in the process.

So I decided to shift my focus towards helping these types of clients to achieve their business goals and dreams and in turn, live the life of their dreams!

4.What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

I love what I do which is a great motivator for my get up and go and I’m always excited to get started. Obviously I’m big into healthy eating so I have a healthy juice followed by a fruit or smoothie breakfast. I usually have my intentions set in advance, sometimes a week or sometimes the night before, depending on how busy things are. I like to work as far in advance as possible. I have a journal with my goals for each day of the week and I work from that as well as a written ‘to do’ list. I’ve recently started journal-ling and intend to start including meditation into my morning routine too.

5.What is the best advice you have ever been given?

To have the inner belief that anything is possible.

6.What is a book you would say everyone must read?

She Means Business by Carrie Green (for female entrepreneurs)

7.. What is the book you would say everyone needs to read?

I’m in the process of re-vamping my Master Your Marketing course and will be launching it soon. Suitable for all entrepreneurs and small businesses this takes them from setting marketing goals right through to measurement of their marketing activity and review. It includes goal setting, identifying, understanding and connecting with your ideal customer or client, creating your positioning statement, branding, setting a marketing budget, creating your marketing strategy, putting together a marketing activity schedule, building relationships, content creation, measurement and review PLUS bonus materials including productivity strategies.

8.What One thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

I have an amazing little NLP technique that I learned during my training. Another technique I use is to look at a situation from a different perspective (re-framing).

9.What do you love most about helping others?

I love seeing the transformation they get as a result of working with me and helping them to achieve their goals. It’s so rewarding to know that you have helped someone else to achieve their dreams.

10.Your favourite quote?

I have so many it’s difficult to choose but I particularly like this one: The best way to predict your future is to create it – Abraham Lincoln

Thank You so much Karen for being part of this, some great information there.

I wish you all the success in the world. You can contact Karen via Facebook , Instagram , or her Website

Have a wonderful day.

I’m a Spiritual Channel, Medium and Coach. My purpose is to shift global consciousness and connect you to your divinity so we may heal and express love at higher rates. As a channel for the higher realms, I assist you with your journey by tapping into your soul. I uncover the unseen beliefs, wounds and gifts to help you evolve into your highest expression. I often offer classes and workshops co-created with spirit.

3. What made you get into this line of business?

A series of experiences led me on a path to reopening my gifts of connecting to the spirit realm. As I did, my heart opened tremendously and I found so much love and joy in helping others in such profound ways. When you follow your true north, you live your truth.

4. What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

I wake up in the morning and look at my precious children. I greet the universe and thank the divine for everything in my life. Then it’s coffee time!!!

5.What is the best advice you have ever been given?

The best advice I have ever learned was that all experiences are a reflection of my own inner world. I learned that if something painful was happening it was because there was something within me that was unhealed that was co-creating my reactions to the world.

6.What is a book you would say everyone must read?

The Seat of your Soul by Gary Zukav

I tell myself that I am creating this reality. This helps me shift anything that I am experiencing that is difficult because I then can choose to shift into another vibration/experience.

9.What do you love most about helping others?

I am compassionate towards all experiences and circumstances. I love helping people grow, see things about themselves they had not yet identified, helping them heal wounds and areas they have not addressed, connect them to their inner world/power. I most love opening people to their inner world, their soul, waiting for them to discover it in much more profound ways. You have access to a much greater experience

10.Your favourite quote?

“The path to joy will never be found without. Look within and find your light once more.” – me

Lucy Smith

Today our women of wisdom is Lucy Smith.

1 Please Introduce yourself, what is your name, business name, where you are from?

Hey, I’m Lucy smith. I live in England and am a Personal Development Coach. I started my business, Succeed Now, in May 2017.

2 What is your business about?

I share the personal development techniques that I used to transform my life. I share weekly on my blog and social media as well as free support tools and digital products to help others transform their mindset and their life. I love to help women with their mindset especially when they are facing the same struggles that I have been through. It feels like I went through those struggles so I can help others and now I am truly living my purpose and passion.

3 What made you get into this line of business?

I had been struggling with my mental health, facing anxiety, fears and had a lack of confidence. I stumbled across personal development and decided to add it into my life 100%. I started reading, meditating, journaling, exercising, saying affirmations, gratitude, listening to podcasts and so much more. It completely transformed my life.

I now manage my anxiety and rarely get triggered.

I overcame my fear of driving and being alone in public.

I boosted my confidence, got a new job that I love and made new friends (this used to be a huge struggle.)

I increased my self-esteem, managing better in social situations.

I can now manage stress and overwhelm.

I feel a lot happier and positive, which has in turn improved my health, sleep, relationships and every other area of my life.

Put simply personal development has transformed my life in every single day. I can’t even imagine where I would be if I hadn’t discovered it.

4 What makes you get up and go in the morning, do you have a morning power routine?

My morning routine is 45 minutes full of all my favourite personal development techniques. I start with reading a personal development book while exercising on my pedal bike. I then journal, write gratitude and write my long-term goals. I then listen to a guided visualisation and meditation recorded in my own voice, followed by my voice recorded affirmations.

5 What is the best advice you have ever been given?

I listen to so much advice daily with all the reading and podcasts it’s hard just to pick one. I would say it is to be consistent in your business, to keep going even when you’re not seeing results. To try new things when something isn’t working and to never give up hope that you will be successful.

6 What is a book you would say everyone must read?

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne – this one made me realise how we attract what we think about. For example recently I have suffered with some health problems causing my to collapse. Doctors said I have a heart condition and need to have tests done. For the next two weeks after being told that I kept thinking about my heart condition and telling people, it’s no wonder that I went on to collapse 4 times in 48 hours. Since that last day I have started telling myself several times daily “I am healthy” as well as telling others that I am good and healthy. Since then I haven’t collapsed once and feel amazing.

7 Does your business have any offers on at present or coming up?

I’ve just launched a 5-Day Self-Care Challenge that I have made very detailed so it can help others get started instantly on self-care and learn all they need to in a 5-day course put together as a workbook. Self-care has been a huge part of my journey, all the benefits I have got as a result are in the link below. 5 Day Self Care Challenge

8 What 1 thing do you do to change your mindset instantly?

Think about gratitude. This is hands down the best way to change your mindset. It completely changes my mindset from one of lack to one of abundance. Where I already have everything I need and have so much to be happy and grateful for.

9 What do you love most about helping others?

The feeling I get when someone says “thank you so much, you’ve changed my life”. There is nothing better than giving people the same results I got. I love helping others improve their mindset and feel happy and confident with themselves.

10 Your favourite quote?

I created one myself that I think sums up what I’ve done and what my business is based on – “Your mindset is the key to a life of happiness and success”

Thank you so much for reading, I hope I can help you in any way you need with improving your mindset.

How to stop negative self talk!

Today I have decided to talk to you about negative self talk! What is this? This is when we tell ourselves stuff that we believe true or when others are telling us it so we as a result start believing exactly what they say and it becomes reality!

This is things like ” I am not good enough” or “I am so stupid” . The thing with words is when said they become reality and if said over and over it becomes the truth. As an example have you ever woken up on a Monday and thought “I hate Monday’s” then you get on the bus, get in work and think “I hate my boss” and during the day you keep saying all these negative things and moaning that you had a bad day? Well this of the negative self talk you are saying!  You say them, believing them and then BANG! It becomes your reality.

It is easily done we all do it at some point, the good news is though that you can stop when you start thinking these things and change it into positive self talk. This is when we tell ourselves good things ” I am loved”, “today is a great day”.

Once you start to do this the brain gets it, it will start to cheer you on in your new positive life!

Things to start telling yourself:

  • I am Amazing
  • I am good enough
  • Today amazing things will happen
  • I am loved
  • I am kind
  • I am powerful

These are a few examples, why not make some of your own up. If you sit and think about the negative things you say why not write them down then change them to a positive.” I hate myself” can become “I love myself”.  I guarantee that over time you will start noticing a huge difference in your mood and self belief.

People in this world will be very quick to put you down, unfortunately! However you can protect yourself by not joining in with this and tell yourself good things about you. You are the only person who’s opinion will ever matter about yourself so make it a good one.

If you try these then let me know I would love to hear how it has helped.

Have a wonderful day.
